Baked Chocolate Donuts

Sharing is caring!

Baked chocolate donuts are a delicious treat that needs just 10 minutes prep time. Make them even more special with a drizzle of icing and crushed candy cane.

The other day, I picked up my oldest from school. As he ran out the door, rather than saying ‘hi dad!’ he instead came running out claiming it was donut Friday and that it was vital that we make donuts. To be honest, I’m not entirely sure where he got this idea, but a good idea is a good idea.

Now, I love a good doughnut, I’ve even made them before. However, I don’t like deep-frying food in my kitchen. Especially when I have my kids around. So, instead, I turned to tried and tested my baked chocolate donut recipe. Not too heavy, plenty chocolaty, and brilliant with a drizzle of icing and crushed candy canes.

  1. You know we have a donut tin that’s gathering dust in a cabinet somewhere as I’ve not thought of baking donuts in ages. But after see the images of your baked chocolate donuts I’m motivated. Oh and I so agree, a good warm hand pie followed by a chocolate donut would make a great pair.
Also loved the image with the hand reaching in. Happy Holidays.

  2. Donut Friday? I’ve never heard of that one, either…but like you I’m totally on board with this concept. Every Friday should be donut Friday! While we will fry stuff occasionally around here, I’m with ya on the baking note. Baked donuts can be quite delicious, and these chocolate ones look awesome!
